First Continental Congress
The First Continental Congress was a convention of delegates from the original Thirteen Colonies of the United States, held in response to the Coercive Acts, known commonly as the Intolerable Acts, of the British Parliament.[1]
The initial call for the Continental Congress came from the Massachusetts Assembly on June 17, 1774. The convention itself took place in Philadelphia on September 5, 1774. [2]
