First Continental Congress

The First Continental Congress was a convention of delegates from the original Thirteen Colonies of the United States, held in response to the Coercive Acts, known commonly as the Intolerable Acts, of the British Parliament.

The initial call for the Continental Congress came from the Massachusetts Assembly on June 17, 1774. The convention itself took place in Philadelphia on September 5, 1774.
