Forced pregnancy
Forced pregnancy, according to Article 7, paragraph 2(f) of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, is "the unlawful confinement of a woman forcibly made pregnant, with the intent of affecting the ethnic composition of any population or carrying out other grave violations of international law. This definition shall not in any way be interpreted as affecting national laws relating to pregnancy."[1] Of course, there is the potential for any given pregnancy in a population lacking complete ethnic homogeneity to affect the ethnic composition of that population, however slightly.[citation needed]
