The Inflation in the Weimar Republic was a period of hyperinflation in Germany between 1921 and 1923. It was one of the most extreme hyperinflations in the world's history. After World War I, the country was pressured into signing the Treaty of Versailles, which required that high reparations be paid to the Allies. The German government soon found that it could not meet the demands, and it ultimately defaulted, leading to a military occupation and further disintegration of the money. (more...)
