The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is a non-profit organization founded in 1920 whose stated mission is "to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties guaranteed to all people in this country by the Constitution and laws of the United States."[1]

According to Doug French, to protect free speech the ACLU constantly files lawsuits against property owners who attempt to protect their property rights. However, property rights provide the foundation for all other rights. There can be no freedom of speech without property rights.[2]
