We can surely do better! Could we aim for a "show, don't tell" - i.e. show where he is wrong, ideally by linking and/or quoting from articles that criticize him, instead of just blankly stating that he is incompetent? Seconded. "...repeatedly display an inability to grasp fundamental economic concepts" sounds editorial, not factual, nor are the opinions even backed up with facts. A reader stumbling upon this article would naturally conclude that the whole wiki is heavily biased and unsupported by evidence.

The introduction section is far too long. Anyone coming here to learn who Mises was isn't going to spend the time reading the whole thing, most of the information should be in the sections below. Here is my proposed intro:

Ludwig von Mises was one of the most notable economists and social philosophers of the twentieth century. In the course of a long and highly productive life he developed an integrated, deductive science of economics based on the fundamental axiom that individual human beings act purposively to achieve desired goals. Mises concluded that the only viable economic policy for the human race was a policy of unrestricted laissez-faire, with government strictly limited to the defense of person and property within its territorial area.

Mises successfully slowed a period of Austrian inflation in the 1920's as the chief economic adviser to the Austrian government. He was effectively barred from any paid university post in Austria and later in the United States, so he developed his own "private seminar" which attracted the outstanding young economists, social scientists, and philosophers throughout Europe. He founded the "neo-Austrian School" of economics and his business cycle theory was adopted by most younger economists in England in the early 1930s as the best explanation of the Great Depression.

Having fled the Nazis to the United States, Mises did some of his most important work here. In over two decades of teaching, he inspired an emerging Austrian School in the United States. Mises’s business cycle theory was the foundation for the work of F.A. Hayek, who was awarded the Nobel Prize in economics in 1973.

<blockquote>"Economics deals with society's fundamental problems; it concerns everyone and belongs to all. It is the main and proper study of every citizen."<br />

The Murphy-Krugman debate is a proposed debate between economists Robert Murphy and Paul Krugman. As of mid-November 2010 the debate has not taken place.

Overview
Murphy issued the challenge to Krugman in October 2010. The debate will focus on the Austrian Business Cycle Theory versus the Keynesian Business Cycle Theory. In order to place pressure on Krugman to accept the challenge, Murphy organized a fundraiser to raise $100,000 for the Fresh Food Program in New York City. The funds would only be sent if Krugman actually engaged in a debate with Murphy. As of mid-November, over $50,000 have been raised, and there has been no response from Krugman. A YouTube video was created in order to spread the news about the debate.
